Vietnamese Healthtech Startups Docosan and POC Pharma Raise Over USD 5 Million

May 2021

Docosan, a Vietnamese healthtech startup, has raised more than USD 1 million in seed funding. The investment was led by Taiwanese investor AppWorks, with participation from biotech entrepreneur David Ma and Singapore-based venture capital firm Huat Ventures.
Founded in 2020, Docosan is a booking platform, enabling patients to compare healthcare providers across a wide range of specialties, book appointments online 24/7, chat with primary care assistants, and manage health data seamlessly. At the same time, the app helps healthcare providers increase their customer bases and improve operational efficiency. All healthcare providers are vetted before being added to the platform and have, on average, 18 years of clinical experience. Docosan’s app now has about 50,000 users and hundreds of vetted doctors across 35 specialties. Recently, Docosan has also incorporated an online payment feature and plans to expand into telehealth and pharmacy services.
Pharmacy Online Concierge Pharma (POC Pharma) is another remarkable Vietnamese healthtech startup that recently raised USD 4.5 million in an equity financing round to digitize pharmacies in Vietnam. Investors participating in the round included Picus Capital, Goat Capital and FJ Labs, Febe Ventures 500 Startups Vietnam, and several other unnamed angel investors.
Established in 2020, POC Pharma’s platform helps the stakeholders in the Pharmacy Channel (pharmacies, drug manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, payers) to digitally manage their interactions and collaborative workflows. The new funds will help POC Pharma improve its services, focusing on selling pharmaceutical products online in Vietnam first and then launching in other countries.
