First of 9 New Foodpanda Stores Begins Operations

January 2022

In December 2021, Foodpanda, the largest food and grocery delivery platform in Asia outside of China, announced the commencement of operations for a new pandamart store in Western Singapore, retailing over 5,000 products ranging from snacks, ready-to-eat meals, alcohol, home care products and others. The new store, the first of 9 new planned pandamart stores, is part of Foodpanda’s objective to eventually provide round-the-clock delivery of grocery orders to Singaporeans within 15 minutes to keep up with the increase in demand for online grocery shopping.

Since its launch in January 2020, pandamart has grown from five stores to 15 currently. It has seen a 32-fold increase in orders, largely due to the Covid-19 pandemic accelerating the adoption of online grocery shopping. Of the 9 new planned stores, some would include the relocation and upgrading of older pandamart stores to better meet the demand of the various communities.

Pandamart is also looking to expand the range of products it offers, adding cold chain facilities to the new stores to allow the sale of fresh produce, meat and seafood. All pandamart stores have also begun retailing meat and seafood products, and will also carry products exclusively imported from other parts of the world, such as limited edition flavored potato chips, or unique instant noodles flavors.
