Retailer and variety store chain MINISO recently launched its first IP-themed flagship store at Margo City Store in Indonesia, featuring Sanrio characters. This store is the brand’s first of its kind globally. The move reflects MINISO’s commitment to expanding its brand in Indonesia, introducing a new store image and a range of IP products to enhance the shopping experience for customers.
After undergoing renovations for several months, MINISO’s Margo City store, located in one of Indonesia’s popular shopping malls, reopened to shoppers with a refreshed appearance. The storefront is decorated in pastel pink and prominently showcases Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, Kuromi, and Cinnamoroll. Covering approximately 450 square meters, the store features a substantial Sanrio IP zone and a varied selection of other globally recognized IPs to appeal to a diverse audience. MINISO envisions the revamped store as a comprehensive destination for customers to explore its co-branded IP world.
MINISO currently runs 200 stores in Indonesia, covering 90 cities nationwide. After the Sanrio-themed store’s positive reception, the brand aims to introduce more IP collaborations for shoppers and expand its store network in the country. The focus is on establishing a presence in additional central business districts, with plans to open more stores across the nation by the end of 2023.
