MINISO is set to open its largest store, MINISO Land, at Jakarta’s Central Park Mall. This new flagship location will be the biggest of its 6,600 stores globally, marking a significant step in MINISO’s growth strategy in Indonesia. Designed as a “dream castle amusement park,” the store will feature eight product categories and three themed zones, offering an immersive shopping experience.
Indonesia’s retail sector is one of the fastest-growing in Asia, contributing over 10% to the country’s GDP. The nation’s population of more than 270 million, combined with a growing middle class and higher purchasing power, makes Indonesia a key market for retailers. Millennials, in particular, are driving spending trends, contributing to the sector’s strong performance. In recent years, the sales value of Indonesia’s retail market has exceeded USD 100 billion, with projections indicating it will reach around USD 243 billion by 2026.
MINISO’s continued expansion, with approximately 300 stores already established in Indonesia, positions the brand to capitalize on this market potential. By opening MINISO Land, the company is reinforcing its presence in a growing retail landscape while offering consumers innovative and affordable products. This move aligns with the broader retail trend in Indonesia, where both international and domestic brands are vying for a share of the booming market.
