German rail innovation and technology company Siemens Mobility recently signed an agreement with Thailand’s Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC) and the Center for Dual Vocational Education, aimed at collaborating on a new dual education program for High Vocational Diploma students over the 2023-2026 period.
The dual education program for High Vocational Diploma students aims at creating opportunities for Thai specialists to serve the Southeast Asian country´s rapidly growing rail transport network.
Selected participants will be given a chance to learn new technologies and maintenance processes from Germany. The seven-month practical training program includes rotation across the various departments of Siemens Mobility’s projects, such as the BTS SkyTrain, MRT, and Airport Rail Link. In addition, trainees will receive employment welfare benefits, personal safety equipment, and possible job opportunities after their graduation.
Siemens Mobility started collaborating with several Thai agencies, including the Office of the Vocational Education Commission (OVEC), in 2013 to create education programs to develop the professional skills of High Vocational Diploma students in Thailand, contributing to supporting the growth of future jobs.
