AllDay Presents First Supermarket Smart Carts in the Philippines

March 2022

AllDay Supermarket, one of the fastest-growing supermarkets in the Philippines and a retail arm of conglomerate Villar Group of Companies, has launched “smart carts” in its stores. AllDay has been at the forefront of bringing in first-to-market innovations in the supermarket business.

The smart cart technology is user-friendly and works by simply placing the grocery items in the smart cart. The cart will then immediately scan the item in place, reflecting prices and other important information in the user’s interface. It will also generate the grocery’s total price in real-time as the shoppers continue the shopping trip, therefore allowing the shoppers to monitor and compare it against their budget. After the trip, the smart cart will issue a QR code which will then be scanned by and paid through the self-check-out counters or handed over to AllDay’s employed cashiers.

These smart carts are the latest addition to the chain’s growing collection of first-to-market innovations, including its Personal Shopper Service, and AllDay’s self-checkout counters. To date, AllDay has 53 stores throughout the country.
