The Vietnamese Ambassador to France recently visited a Thales Group’s facility in Cannes which specializes in developing technology solutions for satellite, aerospace, defense, transportation, and security markets.
During the meeting, a Thales Group’s representative revealed that the company has been working with Vietnamese partners to conduct training sessions and transfer technologies on the application of satellite images. Thales Group also highlighted that it seeks stronger cooperation in Vietnam’s priority areas, outlined in the national strategy on digital technology for 2021-2030.
Thales Group established its presence in Vietnam over 20 years ago and has long history of cooperation with local firms. The visit has been described as an opportunity for both sides to discuss orientations in the upcoming years.
Thales has provided leading air traffic management systems to the Vietnamese authorities and Thales’s In-Flight Entertainment systems are installed aboard Vietnam Airlines’ new fleet of Airbus A350 and Boeing B787 aircraft.
Thales has also cooperated with Vietnam´s defense industry through transfer of know-how and technology, training and services. Thales worked with the Vietnamese Navy through the Coastal Radar Networks project and the Naval Tactical Operation Training Simulator.
