Swiss multinational food and drink processing conglomerate Nestlé has just launched USD 147 million Nestlé Purina PetCare factory on the Amata industrial estate in Rayong.
According to the company, the plant’s official opening marks a milestone for Nestlé in producing high-quality wet pet food for the Thai and international markets. In effect, Nestlé has registered a sharp increase in demand for premium pet food in Thailand and across the region, including Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
Nestlé sees Rayong as an ideal strategic location. Thailand offers easy access to high-quality raw materials and is logistically convenient to supply products across zone Asia, Oceania, and sub-Saharan Africa.
The new factory will increase Nestlé’s presence in the wet cat food single-serve product segment, a priority category. The factory boasts advanced technology such as a fully automated system that features a high-speed filling line with products handled by robots, automated guided vehicle material handling, and high-speed robot multi-packers that can each finish more than 720 packs per minute.
